Intro
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Publishing Team, where you will play a key role in improving and maintaining our game engine, SDK, and publishing tools. You will be working on a portfolio of existing games while assisting third-party studios in integrating and optimizing their games on our platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys game+engine development, H5 JavaScript programming, and collaborating with internal and external teams to enhance game development processes.
Our team operates at the intersection of technology and creativity, making this a great opportunity to have a direct impact on game quality, performance, and player experience across multiple platforms.
Challenges & Responsibilities
- Maintain & enhance the FRVR game engine and SDK, ensuring performance, stability, and ease of use for internal and third-party game developers.
- Optimize games for web and cross-platform deployment, making sure they run smoothly across different devices and platforms.
- Develop new features and tools that improve game development and publishing workflows.
- Support third-party developers, guiding them in best practices for using our tools and optimizing their games for our platform.
- Collaborate closely with game developers, designers, and product managers to implement features and improvements that enhance game performance and user experience.
- Perform debugging, testing, and code reviews to maintain high-quality development standards.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies in game development, web-based game engines, and rendering optimizations.
- Work independently while being an active member of a small, agile, and highly collaborative team.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong JavaScript development skills with experience in HTML5 and WebGL.
- Experience in game engine development and optimization.
- Understanding of performance profiling, debugging, and rendering optimizations.
- Familiarity with PixiJS, Phaser, or other HTML5 game frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to development.
- A user-first mindset, ensuring our tools and games provide an exceptional experience for players.
- Fluency in English, as we are a global team.
If you also have these experiences, it will be a bonus:
- Node.js experience for backend services.
- Experience working with third-party game developers or publishers.
- Knowledge of networking and multiplayer game development.
- Familiarity with TypeScript.
- Experience in working in agile teams and contributing to roadmap planning.
- A portfolio of personal or published game projects.
- Passion for experimenting with new technologies in gaming.
